What this means
Streams are not all worth the same.
The rate changes with the local subscription price, ad market, listener mix, and Spotify's market pool. Use this table to plan releases, but use the calculator to estimate what actually reaches you.
Before you blame the rate
The rate isn't the number you can move.
A higher payout country won't save you. A fraction of a cent times more streams is still a fraction of a cent. The streams have to exist first, and they don't until the right people hear the song. That part is actually yours. It starts with Spotify understanding what the song is: the pitch an editor reads, and the genre and mood metadata that decides who it gets played to.

Does Spotify pay the same per stream in every country? +
No. Spotify creates market-level royalty pools, so streams from higher subscription and ad markets usually generate more than streams from lower-priced markets.
Is this what I receive in my bank account? +
No. These are estimated gross per-stream values before distributor commissions, label splits, songwriter splits, and missing publishing registrations.
Why does the calculator ask for PRO and MLC registration? +
Because recording royalties and publishing royalties are collected through different systems. Many artists collect master royalties but miss writer, publisher, or mechanical income.
